Want FREE Targeted Traffic? Craigslist Can Help!
Recently I've experienced that craigslist.org actually helps in
getting targeted traffic to my website. I wish I've known this
earlier when I had my own comparison shopping website. Posting
ads on craigslist is free--yes, other than a number of states
that craig charges for job offering posts, every other
categories in all 50 states plus couple of dozen other countries
are FREE! If I've gotten your attention in giving you the idea
of advertising your site on craigslist, now you have to read on.
You will get traffic even though you post 1 ad on a category
that's relevant to your ad. However, the more posts you make,
the more exposure you are giving yourself, which equal more
traffic. But whatever you do, don't SPAM! Craigslist has strict
rules against spammers, and worst comes to worse, they will
block your IP so you can't even access their site--which means
you will never be able to post ads on craigslist again! Not only
do craigslist employees 'flag' your ads and delete them, regular
visitors like us have an option to vote on whether your post is
relevant or irrelevant to the category. Even if they are in the
right category, if they see similar posts that directs to you,
they will vote for SPAMMING, and will be deleted. Surf around
craigslist.org for yourself and you will know what I'm talking
about.
However to
avoid being flagged or being accused of spamming?
Don't make so many posts in a short period of time. Not only
that, make all your ads differently; different titles and
different descriptions. Craigslist won't allow you to post
similar ads regardless of the category, country, or state. If
you want to get the exposure you are looking for, be smart and
post seldom in different states and categories with it's unique
titles and descriptions. That way, you may have a couple of your
ads flagged and deleted, but majority of your ads will still be
up on craigslist to get you the traffic.
One more important thing is that you shouldn't make it so
obvious that you are posting on craigslist to advertise. Don't
just put a link there and say "visit here" or "click here". Give
readers something to read to get their attention--lead them to
your site the right way!
Craigslist.org should be one of your sources of advertising.
Don't rely on it too much because in order for one to avoid
getting flagged and deleted every so often, there is a limit to
how far one can go with posting ads on the site. But since it's
free, do take advantage of it!
